The Nymphalidae, or Brush-Footed butterflies, are the largest family of butterflies throughout the world. Known for their brush-like leg hairs, the Nyphalidae include some of the world’s most beautiful butterflies, including monarchs, admirals, fritillaries, and emperors.
These socks are knit toe up with a lace embellishment of the front of the foot reminiscent of butterflies. The heel is done via a heel flap, and then the leg is continued with the lace emblem up the front, ending with a picot edge similar to the brush-like legs of the Nyphalidae family.
The pattern includes options for a narrow foot as well as a wide foot, and has instructions on how to widen the calf.
The socks use approximately 230-275 yards of the main color and 60-70 yards of the contrast color, dependent on the size of foot.
