Seller's description

1959 Iberia Airlines Antique Advertising Matador and Bull.

- Condition 7/10
- Measurments; 30x41,5cm / 11,81x16,33 in

IBERIA Spanish Airlines was founded on June 28, 1927 by the Biscayan businessman Horacio Echevarrieta and the German Lufthansa during the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera as a monopoly of Spanish air transport. Iberia's first commercial flight was scheduled for December 14, 1927 between Madrid and Barcelona, with Alfonso XIII as a special passenger. However, it was a Barcelona-Madrid flight that was the first to be operated by Iberia, departing two hours before the official flight. The intention was that Alfonso XIII could witness the first landing at Carabanchel Airport, today's Cuatro Vientos Airport, but weather conditions forced this plane to arrive later than planned. In 1928 it had grown, with three Rohrbach Ro VIII Roland airplanes, which were trimotors with capacity for ten passengers.
