A beautiful collectors piece. A Yoshimi K Foo dog. In near perfect condition he has not chips or cracks and the colours are exquisite.
Unfortunately we only have the one but even so, he would stand proud on any shelf or mantle.

MADE IN JAPAN IN THE 1950s. SIGNED BY YOSHIMI K whose studio is well known for its beautiful Foo Dogs and Dragons.

Interesting fact about Foo Dogs:

Foo Dogs are actually lions. They originated in China, shi, meaning lion or shishi or stone lion. Yet they resemble the Chow Chow and Shih Tzu which led them to be called foo dogs (or fu dogs) in English. Foo dogs were originally displayed outdoors.
