This is a wooden kumihimo marudai cut out of ¼ inch thick walnut, cherry or maple veneer wood. It stands a bit over 7 inches tall and about 6 inches across. It has the standard 32 slots.

This comes unassembled...you just insert the tabs into the slots. They might be a snug fit and may take some pressure to insert them; you can put a bead of glue along the edges if you want for a solid finished piece, but for these photos and video the piece is just snapped together.

You get your name or other title of your choice engraved into the base.

Since the slots do not provide any "grab" or tension, I recommend you use the weighted bobbins and a center weight to provide the proper tension for your weaving. Using a clip weight in the center lets you move it up as the braid emerges.
