Stunning vintage Indian cotton floral dress. Relaxed fitting and easy to wear - this pretty frock with look great on just about anybody. Judging from the label and finishing this is a later copy (probably 90s) of the classic Indian style.

Soft mid-weight cotton that is cool and comfortable to wear, yet sturdy and long wearing unlike some of the thinner gauze fabrics used for a lot of Indian dresses.

The main body of the dress is black with deep red and brown large floral print which is very much like the iconic Liberty or William Morris designs. The bodice is overlaid with maroon red cotton and has vertical black and gold stitching and is edged with tiny gold tone hoop sequins and gold metallic trim.

This is a loose fitting garment that pulls on over the head with a round notch neckline and five small black covered buttons (these are for effect only and do not open). The sleeves are loose and three quarter length and the cuffs are trimmed with red edging and sequins.

The body of the garment is relaxed and it falls to knee length with red cotton gold trim and sequins. The hem is also finished with a band of red cotton and gold tone trim.

This is a flattering frock that will suit most medium sizes, it hangs well and needs no slip. It is labelled XL but vintage Indian sizes come up much smaller.
