Keepsake Box - Maple with Leopardwood Top

This keepsake box is made from beautiful maple hardwood for the case, and an exotic wood for the top called leopardwood, mostly growing in Australia (12" x 6.5" x 4.5"). There is a nice contrast between the medium cream colored maple and the dark brown leopardwood. I continued the contrast in the interior of the box by using black velvet to cover the bottom of the case and tray. Although it's a little difficult to make out, the left-hand section of the bottom of the case is a padded velvet ring-bar with four slots for rings. Of course, it could be used as just another divided section if rings are not your thing!
