Vintage Santa Boot Planter, Mid-Century Christmas Kitsch, Lefton Ceramic

Here a mid century Lefton's boot planter was used to create this retro styled holiday decoration. I always begin by filling the cavity with clean recycled packaging styrofoam. A green glittered bottle brush tree was securely placed in the center of the styrofoam filler with crinkle paper surrounding the base of the bottle brush tree. The holly berries on the boot are painted white and are covered in clear glitter. I nestled a vintage Christmas mouse holding a candy cane just inside the crinkle paper slightly to the side of boot's front. Using vintage wooden ornaments in these decorations add nostalgia because they are truly part of Christmas past. On this assembly you will also find a variety of embellishments such as acrylic beads, faux peppermints and candy canes, and two red wrapped gifts tied in green string, wooden snowflakes and more. I crafted red and white blooms by putting white hydrangea petals together with small red flowers, then added a special touch with glitter. This Santa boot is chock full of holiday fun and reminiscent of Christmas past. Perfect for gift giving or to just keep for yourself.
