The Rivendell Shawl is a very easy and beginner friendly pattern. It consists of a few set up rows, and then a simple few rows repeat. The inspiration behind this design is Rivendell, home of the Elves in "The Lord Of The Rings" book (and movie) series.
The pattern uses only basic stitches, and will look great in both variegated or solid color yarn. This can be made using any yarn weight and any hook you like. You can make it smaller and wear it as a scarf, or make it as big as you like and use it as a shawl.
