It's always a good idea however to remove any jewelry before swimming and exercising, and to avoid contact with chemicals and perfumes as much as possible. An Anatomical Heart and Femur Bone. From whence we came, so shall we one day return.

I love the symbolism of this necklace, I'm just having a time of it putting it into words. I mean, there's a few different levels happening here. There's the physical - two commanding aspects of the human body, one mechanical, one structural - vital components of an amazingly complex organism but so different in form and purpose.

And then there's the metaphysical (and here's where I unravel) - the spiritual, emotional and devotional powerhouse of the human condition contrasting starkly with the very real and grounding element that connects us to this planet.

It's a meditation on the Human Condition. A study in the dichotomy of our existence, the duality of our nature.

Profound stuff indeed.

Both pieces are completely hand carved, cast in high quality jewelers bronze, hand finished and hand polished. Like all my bronzes they won’t tarnish thanks to a process we apply after the final polish.

The heart is 1" from the bottom of the Ventricles to the top of the Aorta (not including the jump ring) and about 1/2" across its Atriums. The Femur measures 1 1/2" long, and 1/2" across the widest point of the bone, spanning the parts known as the Greater Trochanter and the Head (which fits snugly into the hip socket).

The heart and bone comes on your choice of chain or leather - all leather necklaces are adjustable and come with our signature Lost Apostle clasp (shown in the last photo).

A perfect piece for when you're in the mood to contemplate life, the universe and Everything.
