About The Set:

A brand new stonecast chess set representing all the main characters from the much loved T.V. series, Dad's Army. Just look at the images and see how many you can recognise ☺

Construction:

Each set is hand cast in reformed stone resulting in a solid, weighty and natural product (no plastic here thank you very much!) which is then stained, detailed and glazed to give a durable high quality result yet still retaining a certain ceramic and antique finish.

Unless you specify otherwise the colours for these pieces are Military Brown for the dark and Khaki Green for the light. If you would prefer any other colours that aren't listed here then let me know before you purchase and I'm sure I'd be able to accommodate you.

The king is just over 4 inches in height and the set and unpacked weights approx 1.6KG! Would suit a board with squares approx 2 inches.

Vinyl Chess Mat:

This set also comes with an optional vinyl chess mat/board so you can start playing as soon as you receive it. This is a black and white mat with 2 inch squares and is tough, durable and wipe clean.

This person really knows how to craft! There are some imperfections in the pieces (Piza-like leaning, chips in the parts), but these imperfections in a way also lend WELL to the quality by way of showing how they are artisan works. This kind of crafting really MUST be appreciated, and I feel that folks who love these kinds of purchases (organic, hand-crafted materials) would be in for a treat if they buy!

Some pieces had chipped from shipping. Also, the chess I had paid for wasn't sent, waiting for it to arrive.
