What are 3D printed items made out of?

All items are made using PLA, an organic non-toxic plastic made from corn starch that is durable and biodegradable! Due to the nature of 3D printing, there may be minor defects and imperfections (stringing, rough edges, bumps, discoloration, shiny appearance, loss of infill-which may be intentional for the product design, etc) that make each piece unique and different. Prior to shipping every item is checked for not only aesthetics, but also the intended use. You may find areas where we’ve taken the time to sand, file and clip away any aesthetic imperfections. We use only the highest quality filament to ensure colors are vibrant and defects are kept to an absolute minimum for both our products and our machines.

Here at Adam and Carolyn Create we understand the importance of recycling. We recycle not only our shipping supplies, but also our templates and filament! Shipping boxes, cardboard, packing paper are all reused and recycled whenever possible. When filament spools begin to run out the remaining amount of filament usually ends up in the landfill. To avoid unnecessary waste we hand feed our printers every last bit to make one of a kind multicolored products!

Our Recycled Templates

Every 3D printed item is unique and though many flaws can be clipped or cleaned up some templates do not meet our standards. Instead of sending these templates to the landfill we will donate, repurpose them for craft time with our toddlers, or offer them at a discounted rate to anyone wanting to test a pattern or are unsure if 3D printed vs acrylic templates are right for them! Send us a message if you want to check out what we currently have available in our recycle bin! *Recycled templates though are not visually pleasing; they are perfectly usable for tracing or using a rotary cutter.
