Leca stands for: Lightweight expanded clay aggregate. Essentially, Leca is a growing medium, like soil, in which you can grow your plants. Leca is a collection of baked clay balls that expand when you soak them in water.

The pH strips are needed when adjusting a new plant or cutting into leca because houseplants require a 6.0-7.0 pH to thrive.

The leca balls came as pictured. I am using them as an addition to my orchid media. The vendor sent a very nice note offering to answer any questions for using them in a hydroponic setup. She also included some ph test strips and a guide for them. I think she is probably a very good resource person for hydroponics.

Arrived arrived a little late (thanks to USPS). However item arrived in perfect condition and included helpful tips for transition. Love that it came in a container vs a bag. Thank you Hannah for awesome communication throughout the process!
