This snood or hair net pattern is easy to crochet and perfect for that retro look, civil war reenactments, motorcycle rides or just keeping your hair off your face and out of the way. Done in white with pearls or small crystals it would look fantastic for a wedding with a hair band added. A circle of elastic holds the snood firmly in place, although narrow ribbon can be used as well. The pattern uses a 2.75mm hook and size 10 crochet cotton.
This is an adaptation of the pattern originally published in 1942. I found the mesh spaces too large for layered hair and came up with a version that was easier for me to make and with smaller holes than the original.
