This collar (neck warmer) made in Burgundy, in mohair and silk, soft and warm is ideal for colds in all seasons, to protect fragile necks and sensitive throats, outdoors as well as indoors.
Practical, it simply slips over the head and its small size allows it to be easily slipped into a bag and taken everywhere with you, to deal with minor colds.
This pretty collar is handcrafted on a knitting loom, from a yarn composed of 80% mohair and 20% silk, by an artisan and breeder of Angora goats for their mohair wool, located in Burgundy; the stitch is deliberately loose (jersey n°7) giving it a light and airy appearance, while ensuring you comfort, warmth and remarkable softness in contact with the skin (this mohair knitting technique means that it does not itch).
Available in many bright colors, it will brighten up your autumn and winter outfits, and who knows, maybe even brighten up the grey skies…

Mohair is a high-end natural fiber known for its excellent insulating properties, guaranteeing exceptional warmth and comfort. Produced from a special breed of goat, the Angora goat, it is soft to the touch, thanks in particular to the meticulous work of French breeders who select only the finest fibers, and it does not irritate the skin even when worn next to it (except for those with allergies).
This fiber also has a strong affinity with pigments, and can therefore be adorned with luminous colors; the associated silk thread also gives a slightly shiny side with a most charming effect.
This warm collar is made by La Fée Mohair, breeder of a herd of 30 Angora goats for their mohair, and designer of mohair clothing. The breeding and the clothing workshop are located in Nièvre, on a 4ha estate, between Loire and Morvan. The mohair wool harvested after shearing is sent to a cooperative, SICA mohair (located in Castres), which is responsible for transforming it into colored knitting yarn, in a group and mixed with that of other Angora goat breeders in France. After the 6 months necessary to transform the raw mohair into colored yarn, La Fée Mohair uses it to make its clothing, using knitting looms (hand-finished). The breeding aims to respect the environment and animal welfare, and carries the label "Mohair des fermes de France" (more information www.lafeemohair.fr).
La Fée Mohair clothing is therefore produced from both French agriculture and craftsmanship.

This warm collar is delivered by tracked letter, in a sealed envelope that protects it perfectly during transport, which you can then use for storage; advice on washing and maintenance as well as a short description of the stages of its manufacture, mainly in Burgundy, are also provided.

In terms of maintenance, mohair is no more fragile than other wools... here are some practical tips:
The goal in all cases is to prevent your beautiful fabric from felting. To deliberately felt wool, you must rub it vigorously in hot water and with a harsh soap; this is what you should avoid above all.
Washing should be done at less than 30°C, using a special wool soap or detergent, or a mild shampoo; simply circulate the water (without rubbing) then rinse immediately without soaking. Do not use Marseille soap. To remove a stain, you can rub locally.
Machine washing is entirely possible in a special wool or delicate cycle (less than 30°C, NO spin, special wool detergent)
To spin dry, lay the garment flat on a terry towel, then roll it up like a snail so that the towel absorbs the excess water (do not wring by twisting).
Dry flat to prevent the stitches from stretching. Avoid proximity to a heat source (radiator, fireplace).
Finally, you should know that mohair, like all wools, and unlike synthetic materials, gets dirty very little, and therefore requires fewer washes than synthetics. It absorbs very little odor and dust.
