A very rare late 1930s or 1940s cardigan jacket by 'Drumlanrig', made from jersey knit wool fabric in a houndstooth or shepherd check pattern in dark green & off white. It has a low V neck, slim sleeves with tapering seams on the forearms, & 2 welted lower pockets; the leading edges & pocket openings are trimmed with plain green knit, & the front fastens with 5 marbled green early plastic buttons. Jersey garments of this era are extremely hard to find.

Condition:
In fair to good condition, with numerous small discreet, well-executed repairs overall, particularly in groups to the right shoulder, the right armpit, & the cuffs, with a few others scattered here & there - the majority are shown in the close-ups (last 2 photos) but some are very hard to see & I may have missed photographing them. Has been gently hand washed & steamed prior to listing.
