I have 6 sisters and needed something quick for Christmas gifts. They were a hit so I wrote the pattern and listed it on eBay. That was Dec. 2003! This was the first pattern I sold and this began my humble crochet designer title. Thank you to all of my customers worldwide ♥

In 2003, Red Heart Super Saver was $2.99 and came as a 6 oz skein. Today it's only 5 oz but it's still $2.99 with a coupon in some places! This pattern as written takes all of 6 oz of yarn so you will need 2 skeins. Any worsted weight yarn or cotton yarn works. You will also need a 10mm hook.

The finished poncho will fit the average size adult however instructions are given to ADAPT the pattern to make any size from doll to very large as shown in the pictures. (The last 3 pictures are the original pictures from 22 years ago!)

The poncho is made in one piece and then whipstitched together in the back. The front and the back are identical.
It's beginner friendly using only ch, sc, and dc.
