Product
Since offering our special needs Mouthstick and Steady Stylus, we often get requests to only deliver the conductive tips. When people already own a conductive head pointer, mouth stick or other handle, they only need a solution for the tip that touches the capacitive touch display. With this offering, we make this general available. Just wrap the plug on or over the handle's tip and you're done! The package contains 2 conductive plugs, one with a hard rubber kernel and one with a flexible silicone kernel. The inner diameter is 6mm (1/4") and the length is 25mm (1"). The plug's fabric is the same that is used in all our Stylus Socks concept styli. The hard rubber kernel one is the exact same tip that is used with our Mouthstick and Steady Stylus (see elsewhere in our shop).

Hard vs Soft kernel conductive plugs
The hard kernel one suits best for pointers with a (close to) 6mm diameter, whereas the soft kernel one allows also slightly wider diameters. The hard kernel one is the default on all of our own pointers. For initial testing, we have a "mix pack" option, so you can explore themselves what works best.

History
It all started when the wife of a quad (quadriplegic) patient ordered a regular Stylus Socks stylus from our Etsy shop. She found out about our conductive socks concept while she was visiting a local Apple store and one of the employees started Googling for a proper solution. Their first approach was to put the conductive sock around the tip of their existing plastic mouth stick. But as you may know, a capacitive touch screen requires some ground (body) contact to make it work. And with a plastic mouth stick, this means that a wire needs to be wrapped around the stick and into the mouth, which is not very convenient.

Then we made a custom solution for them based on two approaches. One with a fully conductive aluminum mouth stick gaining enough electrical ground by itself, and one that uses the iPad's body as an electrical ground so you can use it with an existing mouth stick of any material (even plastic). We shipped it and got positive feedback on both approaches. We tweeted about it and got in contact with people around the globe dealing with ALS or MS and started supporting them. A few weeks later, several of these packages got shipped to the US and AUS. And people using a head pointer got triggered as well, so that's how we started offering the conductive plugs. Just put these around your head pointer's tip and you're ready to go.
