UNFINISHED DEFINITION:
Our 1/8" wood is raw on both sides. Our 1/4" wood is raw on one side and has a cured UV coating on one side that makes it slightly glossy and very smooth. Unfinished in this shop simply means you the customer paints the item as we dont do any finishing. The listing pictures and video shows this coating with an example of the front and back. Take any normal neccessary precaution when you finish this item especially if you are lightly sanding or painting the item.
