These tightly woven tote bags are stylish and practical, and are also helping to preserve traditional regional designs and weaving techniques. A long piece of fabric is first woven on a backstop loom, which is subsequently cut and sewn to form the outer bag. The strap, woven separately, may contain its own symbols and designs, or may be simple plain weave. Liven up your next outfit with this Andean beauty!

This product was hand-woven in the community of Parobamba using 100% natural and organic local sheep wool, and dyed using natural plants and other pigments.

All of our products are fairly traded, which means the indigenous women weavers that make these products are paid a fair price for their work and expertise. All additional proceeds from sales are reinvested into the community through a Community Development Fund and a youth scholarship program. By purchasing Mosqoy Peruvian Textiles, you are contributing to the preservation of deep cultural knowledge and traditions practiced for centuries in the Peruvian Andes.
