The standard platform style frame (my most popular design in majority of my listings) has the following dimensions:
1. Headboard Width (with nightstands): Mattress Width + 30" (Headboards WITHOUT nightstands are your mattress width + 9.5")
2. Headboard Height: 45"
3. Platform Width: Mattress Width + 9.5 (*This is with a 4.75" exposed ledge each side)
4. Bed Length: Mattress length + 10"
5. Platform Height: Standard height is 12”. I can increase this to as high as 14" (at cost).

Yes! All my beds can be built to implement an adjustable frame. What we would do is close the side railings so you cannot see your adjustable frame from the sides. The slat support system is also removed so your adjustable frame sits directly on the floor.

All we need is the height and footprint of your frame to ensure a proper fit. The fee of this customization is cost of materials + $350 USD. Since we usually remove as much material as is needed to build the customizations, most orders don't pay much for cost of materials.

I currently only ship to Canada and the USA.
If you are a US resident I have made it so all the costs associated to packing, shipping, customs, brokerage are billed to my business. The only additional fee you will be charged (for both Canadadian and USA Residents) with be your provincial / state tax.

If a listing says "0" available it is likely that I have too many orders at that time so am controlling my intake. I try never to accept more than 15 bed orders at a time for my own sanity.

I only use standard stains from standard stain pallets (Ie: Minwax, etc.). No custom stains are made and if they are it is at extra cost. All beds frames vary in coloration and hue based on the availability of species at that time. Ie: Walnut can have light (sapwood) as well as dark hues dependant on the time of the season.

The overhead costs of running this business would not allow for us to feasibly use 100% hardwood on all models in our portfolio. A portion of our portfolio are 100% hardwood, however the amount of wood used on these beds is about 1/4 of what is used on our standard models. Please enquire. To substitute hardwood use a grade A plywoods manufactured for our business with an thick douglas fir and baltic birch core - not common in other plywoods & is the highest grade of plywood available. MDF/particle board is used highly by over 80% of the online furniture industry and has a very short life use - none of which are used in our shop. At OPPOSITEHAND we use the highest quality materials within our budget so that we can keep our doors open.

A standard bed will take me 1.5 weeks to complete. This includes everything from material order down to the final finishing, wrapping and boxing of your bed.

*Note - I am usually building 3 bedframes at once to make better use of materials and time, so build time is dependent on the number of orders in que at the time of your order.

Based on previous orders a bed will take anywhere from 7-14 days to ship. This is dependant on your state/province. Due to COVID my lead times for shipping have been crazy! So have a little patience, your beautiful handmade sleeper will be completely worth the wait!
