The Orion pendant is formed from a 1" square of 18 gauge pure copper that is stamped with the constellation and hammered on the edges. The pendant features a soldered bail of sterling silver and hangs from an extra heavy jump ring.

The Canis Major pendant is made with a 3/4 inch disc that is cut from sterling silver sheet, lightly hammered on the edge, and hand stamped with the constellation.

They both hang on an oxidized sterling silver 20" cable chain. All components have been oxidized for a rustic patina. If you prefer a shiny version just leave a note at checkout.

The pendant is 1mm thick.

The necklace will arrive in a gifty box.

Orion has always been one of my favorite constellations. He dominates the winter sky and is welcomed as an old friend when he returns in the fall.

Orion's little friend and hunting companion Canis Major was one of the most important constellations in ancient times because it contains Sirius, the Dog Star, which is the brightest star in the night sky. Only the Moon and the planets Venus, Jupiter and Mars are brighter.

Canis Major is located southeast of Orion. Just imagine a straight line through Orion's belt and follow the line to the southeast, and you will see Sirius perched right below it.

Please be aware that items shipped to your country may be detained in customs for an undetermined period of time. There is no way to contact the customs office to find your item and, except for Canada, tracking only works while the item is in the U.S. In the near future there will tracking to about 30 other countries, many of which are in the European Union. Many countries may require 4-6 weeks from the time the order leaves the U.S. until it is delivered to your door. This requires a certain amount of trust and patience. If an item takes longer than six weeks please contact us.

Also be aware that some countries, particularly the UK, will charge a VAT tax to import your purchase into the country. The VAT tax is the responsibility of the buyer and is not related to shipping cost.
