Autumn is my favourite season and I love to make these little leaves using scraps of vintage fabrics to decorate my home. I wanted to add a little extra cosiness with the twinkling lights - you can use them as the string of your garland or simply add the lights and leaves to a bowl or vase as part of your seasonal decor. Get Smitten is delighted to offer you a couple of cute seasonal crafting project kits this year - simple enough for the total beginner but tempting enough for even the most advanced stitch divas! And with supervision this project is suitable for children over 8.

You will need to provide:

* 12 pieces of different fabrics to make 12 individual leaves
* Iron on interfacing
* Backing fabric
* Selection of Autumnal coloured embroidery floss & needle
* Copper wire
* LED lights (2m) with battery pack
* Iron
* Scissors
* Pliers
*Glue stick

Once made, your leaves garland can be strung up above a bed, on the mantle, along the bannister or simply in a bowl or vase for some twinkly cosy night decor. They are also a really lovely addition to a Samhain altar or as a pretty alternative to Halloween decorations. And if you are hosting a Thanksgiving dinner, you can use them to decorate your table.
