Trust abstractly depicts relationships between men and relationships between women. The bottom half shows two rows of men. The first row in the bottom half is faces of men standing upright, and the very bottom is another row men leaning on the shoulders of the men in the row above them. The top half of the piece shows the same with women when turned upside down.

This piece was made to represent Black women as vulnerable and defy their portrayal of perpetual strength and selfless nurture. This piece illustrates Black women crying on a shoulder instead of being the shoulder to cry on. Similarly, the bottom half represents the allowance of Black men to be vulnerable and emotional, without it being seen as a threat to their masculinity.

The lightest man standing upright (bottom center) and the darkest woman leaning/crying on the shoulder next to her (upper right) were also intentional color choices used to negate associations of lighter skin with softness, and darker skin with strength.

Trust is an abstract work representing loving, trusting Black relationships.
