Each bowl is lovingly hand-crafted in Mexico & is unique in every way.
Each one may have diverts, dents, chips, cracks, knot holes, knife marks etc as this is all part of being handmade and this is what makes it unique! Some are not perfectly flat & some may be larger, wider or heavier than others in their same category. Thats ok...these are not defective! This is the one of a kind, rustic & vintage style...being imperfect is what gives it its character!

THE STORY OF THE DOUGH BOWL
*Traditionally, this type of bowl was used for bread making. The ingredients were mixed and kneaded into dough in the bowl, then covered with a cloth and left to rise. Wooden bowls were preferred as the wood held the heat generated by the fermentation of the yeast. They were handed down to the oldest child throughout the generations and a precious family heirloom for anyone receiving it.
Today, dough bowls can be used in many different ways including home decor & storage. They definitely add a rustic and vintage feel to your home or work space. They make beautiful center pieces and people often store books, magazines, pillows, blankets, kitchen or bath towels in the larger bowls. The smaller bowls can be used for trinkets, twine or yarn as well as candles, seashells or pinecones. The possibilities are endless!
