Elbert Hubbard's Scrapbook is a compilation of writers who inspired him.
Besides excerpts from philosophy, literature and statesmen; what makes it rare and collectible is the Up-side down copyright.
Elbert Hubbard was a founder of the Roycrofters, a group of the Arts and Crafts movement.
They specialized in books printed on hand-crafted paper, thought they also crafted furniture.
The copyright year is printed on the back side of the title page .It reads,
Copyright, 1923
By The Roycrofters
Please look at the photos carefully as they are part of the description.
The covers and the fore and back pages are made of the heavy hand-crafted paper. An inch wide strip of brown canvas is on the side that is bound.
It is bound, scrapbook fashion, with a flat woven ribbon through three holes.
page corners are made slightly rounded. One page was dog-eared over in the process and has a squared corner.
It does have some writing in the front, a former owners name and some numbers. The pages are un-marked with a few small edge tares.
Measures 10 1/2 in. x 8 1/4 in. x 1 in.
It will be shipped priority mail, boxed, padded and insured.
