Suzani Patchwork Stoneware Ceramic Tile and Mosaic Wall Art in Wood Frame

This is a versatile piece. It is ready to hang either vertically or horizontally.

We hand-carved these whimsical tiles from Indiana stoneware clay, then bisque fired, glazed, fired again, and added bits of semiprecious stones and grouted for a mosaic effect. The colorful tiles are then set in this painted black wood frame. The artwork is signed on the back by the artists.

We love Raku firing because no one can predict what the results will look like when the process is finished. The glazes crackle and change in intriguing patterns and colors that cannot be achieved in kiln firing.

These narrow compositions are easy to drop in to a little spot to add a touch of color and personality. A lot of our friends like these as gifts for their friends and family for housewarmings, holidays, and special commemorative ocassions.

SEMIPRECIOUS STONES
Semiprecious stones included here are turquoise, jade, coral, carnelian, amethyst, and cultured pearl.

MADE TO ORDER
Each piece is a handcrafted one-of-a-kind piece. Our pictures represent a close color palette of the glazed stoneware and semiprecious stones as well as the typical shape and size variations. The item you receive will be very similar to the item photographed but will vary slightly in coloration and design.
