This listing is for one card of Fujix Tire silk thread. Each card contains 40 meters of thread. There are multiple colors available. Please choose the color and number of cards that you wish to purchase using the pull-down menu.

Fujix began making silk threads in 1921. Their silk threads were created for sewing silk garments and this hand sewing thread has been used to sew kimono for decades because it has the appropriate strength and composition to prevent damage to the silk fabric.

Although these threads were created for sewing silk garments they have quickly grown in popularity and can be used for: hand embroidery, needlepoint, hand stitching, quilting, beading, temari, kaga yubinuki (Japanese thimble making) and for making tassels. I like to use these threads to create my ume (plum blossom) accessories.

Their threads are extremely high quality and have a wonderful texture and luster.
