After you place your order you will be able to instantly download the digital PDF crochet patterns for you to create these adorable amigurumi safari soft toys - the lion (and lioness), giraffe and elephant. The tutorials contain detailed descriptions of how to crochet the toys with simple step by step instructions plenty of photos. The patterns are available with either UK/Aus or US crochet terms.

Only basic crocheting skills are required (if you are a complete beginner you can find plenty of video tutorials for all of the required stitches online):
• Chain
• UK double crochet / US single crochet
• Changing colour
• Slip stitch
• Increasing and decreasing
• Magic ring (or your preferred alternative)
• Sewing pieces together & sewing on details (e.g. face details)

You will need:
• DK/light-worsted yarn* (I prefer to work with acrylic rather than cotton, and my favourite brands are Paintbox Simply DK, Stylecraft Special DK and Scheepjes Colour Crafter) - you shouldn’t need more than 50g/90m/100yds of the main colour for each toy and a small amount for the accent colours
• 3mm crochet hook (for DK yarn)
• High-loft polyester stuffing
• Yarn/tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Round-headed pins (recommended to help with positioning parts before sewing)

*I use DK/light-worsted acrylic yarn and a 3mm hook for a 22cm/9” tall toy, but you you can change the toy size with different yarn weights and hook sizes (e.g. Aran/Worsted yarn and a 3.5mm hook will give a larger toy).
