At Soil and Sawdust, we create handcrafted floating shelves designed to add warmth, function, and style to any room in your home. Our shelves are made from real wood and are available in a variety of stain colors and size options to complement your space. Whether you’re updating your kitchen with open shelving or adding a decorative touch to your living room, our shelves are built with care and made to last.

Each shelf is crafted by hand with attention to detail. Because we use real wood, every shelf will have its own unique grain pattern, knots, texture, and stain absorption. No two shelves will ever be exactly identical, which is part of the natural beauty of handmade wood shelving.

Please note that while we do our best to represent stain colors accurately in our listing photos, the color shown may vary slightly from the shelf you receive. Each piece of wood absorbs stain differently, and variations in grain can affect the final appearance. Screen settings and device displays may also cause colors to appear different in person.

When multiple shelves are ordered together, we do our best to use similar wood pieces and match the stain color as closely as possible. However, we cannot guarantee an exact color match or identical grain pattern between shelves. These natural variations are part of working with real wood and are outside of our control.

Product Features:

• Customizable Sizes: Choose from a range of depth options including 4”, 6”, 8”, and 10”, with a standard shelf height of approximately 3”. We also offer custom length and depth options. Please message us for a personalized quote. Due to sanding during the finishing process, the shelf height may vary slightly. If you require the height to be exactly 3”, please let us know before ordering, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

• High-Quality Materials: Made from standard pine wood. Our 10” shelves are crafted with Baltic Birch ply on the top and bottom for added durability.

• Easy Installation: Each shelf includes a hidden bracket, 3” screws for wall mounting, and 1 1/4” screws to secure the shelf to the bracket. Simple instructions are included.

• Unique Wood Grain: Due to natural wood variation, each shelf will showcase its own grain pattern, knots, texture, and stain absorption.

• Handmade Craftsmanship: Every shelf is handmade by us with care and attention to detail.

Corner Shelf Ordering Guide:

For corner shelves, you will need to order two separate shelves to achieve the corner look.

To calculate the correct dimensions:

1. Determine the length you want on each wall.
2. Subtract the depth of one shelf from the total length to get the size of the second shelf.

Example:
For 24” shelves on both sides with an 8” depth, order one 24”x8” shelf and one 16”x8” shelf.

24” - 8” = 16”

Important Corner Shelf Note:

Corner shelves are created by using two separate shelves that meet in the corner. They are not one solid L-shaped piece. Because each space is different, we recommend measuring carefully before ordering.

We can help with sizing based on the measurements you provide, but the buyer is responsible for confirming that the final dimensions will work for their space and desired look before placing the order.

Processing Time:
Our current production time is 1–2 weeks, with orders shipping on Fridays. We appreciate your patience as we carefully craft each order.

Returns & Exchanges:
Because each shelf is made to the buyer’s selected size, depth, and stain color, we do not accept returns or exchanges for customized or made-to-order items unless the item arrives damaged or there was an error on our part.

If your order arrives damaged during shipping, please contact us within 3 days of delivery with photos of the packaging and damaged item so we can assist with a resolution.

Please review all sizing, depth, stain color, and corner shelf ordering instructions before placing your order. We are not responsible for incorrect measurements, incorrect installation, or a finished look that differs from what the buyer envisioned once the item has been made correctly according to the order details.

Shipping Notice:
We currently ship to all U.S. states excluding Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and U.S. territories such as Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, etc. If you’re located in one of these areas, please message us before placing an order so we can provide an accurate shipping quote.
