6 mm, 20 gauge jumprings are great for:
-- attaching lighter pendants to chains .. 18 gauge better for medium to heavy pendants*
-- finishing thinner chains
-- anywhere you want a larger jumpring but do not need them to be very strong

We carry locking jumprings in
3-4 mm ... 22/24 ga for finishing thin chains or attaching gems & dangles on earrings
3-6 mm ... 20/21 ga for finishing small / medium chains, attaching small pendants
4-8 mm ... 18/19 ga for finishing medium / large chains or medium/large pendants
8-10 mm .. 14/16 ga for finishing large / x large chains, attaching heavy or large pendants

SIMPLE TO USE .. allow a little bit of practice :)
-- position two flat chain nose pliers at 10 & 2 o'clock
-- open jumpring by sliding one side 1/4 turn towards you past the closed position
-- add clasp, charm, chain, etc. to jump ring
-- hold left plier steady
-- slide right side away from you 1/4 turn past the closed position
-- slide right side towards you back to closed position WHILE PUSHING ENDS IN TOGETHER
-- gently wiggle both sides to align ends.
** you will hear a "locking" of the jump ring or feel it snap into a "locked" state once activated.
** when held up to light you should see very little light pass where the jump ring closes together

I'm just starting to make my own jewelry with charms/pendants and jump rings, and have only purchased jump rings once before. Those were 5mm (from a different shop), which was definitely too small, plus they were difficult to open and broke easily. This size is perfect for small- & medium sized charms and the quality is fantastic -- they're easy to work with & not a single one of them broke. I found myself with a handful of charms all ready to go in a surprisingly short amount of time. The shipping was really fast as well, & I was thrilled to get them so quickly so I could get started on my projects. I'll definitely be purchasing my jump rings from here again!
