We do offer commissions for models/prints not already in our store! This depends on whether the model is achievable with our current skill level - we will not agree to a commission we don't believe we can make to true Illustris quality. The product description says I need to build and paint, what is the best way to finish 3D prints?

Every order with raw prints now includes a flyer with advice on how to achieve the best results when finishing your prints, whether they be in regular PLA filament or resin. Do you sell finished props?

We do offer fully finished (built, sanded, primed and painted) props, however, we are not in a position where we can offer multiple at once, so they are not offered via regular listings. If you're interested in a fully finished prop, click the "Request Custom Order" button to the right hand side of our store page and enquire with us! Fully finished props will need at least 3 months notice before the time you want them in your hands (i.e. 3 months before the convention you're wearing the cosplay to, etc.), will be approximately twice the price (perhaps more, depending on the prop) of the raw print listing, and will have a hefty shipping fee due to the sheer size of many of the props we print.

Why are finished prop commissions so expensive?

Not only do both of us work and study, but finishing 3D prints is deceptively hard work! More often than not, over a hundred hours of sanding goes intoa single 3D printed prop to get it finished to a high standard. Along with sanding there are also finishing materials such as gap filler, filler primer and XTC-3D to be covered, as well as paints, and rods/dowels for the internal structure of props. And that's all before we even get to the shipping! Shipping for completed prop commissions will always be high because of the sheer size of the completed prop.

Can you print a file modeled by someone else for a printing commission?

Absolutely! As long as we have not modeled the same prop/accessory ourselves, we're happy to print models from external sources from you. If we have, however, modeled it ourselves, we ask that you respect our policy to only print our own models in that regard.

I requested for something to be modeled, but haven't heard back yet even though you agreed to my request. What turnaround period do model requests have?

At Illustris Models we do two types of models for customers: model requests and model commissions. For a commission, you pay a modeling fee and the job will be prioritised. Most tend to be regular model requests, though, and we do get quite swamped with these. It is very rare we only have one model request, and we tend to work on large, over-arching projects ourselves, such as our Breath of the Wild and Genshin Impact collections. As a result, it can often take anywhere from a few days to a few months for model requests to be completed, but we'll be sure to notify you when your requested model is available!

Our Dual System Licensing partner for the collection, sorting & recycling of the packaging is ACTIVATE by RECLAY. As a consumer please ensure that all received packaging is disposed of in the right recycling containers, Blue for all paper

Are your models available for commercial Resale

No the models or prints created from models created by us are not available for commercial Resale on any storefronts aside from our own. if you wish to use our models or prints for sponsored cosplays or cosplays commissioned by exterior companies please contact us beforehand.

30 DAY ORDER ISSUE POLICY

We encourage all customers to open their orders and check through their kits as soon as they arrive for any issues, particularly if you have ordered large physical kits with many pieces (i.e. Childe from Genshin Impact, Zelda/Sonia from Tears of the Kingdom etc.). With kits this size (50+ pieces) sometimes pieces do get missed - we are only 2 humans, and there's not a lot we can do! HOWEVER, please be sure to notify us of any issues within 30 days of order delivery. We can no longer offer physical replacements for order issues beyond the 30 day window. After the 30 days, we are happy to supply you with STL files to get printed locally, or we can issue replacements at a small cost. Thank you for understanding!

Link's Sheikah Slate, inspired by the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild! This is the digital .stl files ONLY.

The slate measures approx. 20x13x3cm and will come in four sections - the top, bottom, handle, and handle wrap. You will receive a .zip file containing three different versions of the slate:
- Standard Slate
- Hollow Slate (15mm interior)
- Hollow Slate (18mm interior)

When puzzling how to make our slate functional we found we may need a bit of extra space for electronics. The 15mm interior is a straight rip of the standard slate model, however, the 18mm interior has added thickness making the slate slightly less screen accurate, but adding the additional space we need for what we want to achieve!

Printed this at 0.05 layers in one piece standing upright with supports. I opted for no lights because I'm lazy, as also demonstrated by my atrocious painting job which is completely hidden by the superb modelling. This little guy is going to get some serious mileage.
