Tillandsia Eric Knobloch is hybrid cross between Tillandsia Streptophylla and Tillandsia Brachycaulos named to honor Eric Knobloch from Louisiana (collector and grower). Created around 1960, this air plant has remained a top pick for collectors and has been known to grow larger than either of its parents. Also, as the plant matures, the leaves will curl tighter. When going into bloom, the upper half of the plant will blush a yellow-orange, then red-orange, finally to a deep, rosy-red color.
The plant has a slightly bulbous base with green leaves covered in fine, flat scales. A truly great blend between parents, this plant is easy to care for and can even handle more water than most Tillandsia. The style and interesting shape added with the red color makes it perfect for use in a terrarium, hanging piece, or mounted to a piece of wood. This is a mesic variety, so ensure the plant receives ample light.

Blooms:
Violet flowers
Fruit:

Bright indirect light. Try to avoid North-facing windows due to lack of sufficient lighting.
Water:
It is recommended to thoroughly mist every 2-4 days or soak every week up to 10 minutes at a time. Decrease watering if the humidity levels are higher. Gently shake the plant to dislodge water then place upside-down on absorbent material until the leaves are thoroughly dry. Soggy leaves or overly damp crown/base may encourage leaf drop and disease. Decrease water in winter.
