I threw the plates on the wheel using white stoneware. No glaze was applied however, I did apply Randy's red flashing slip which accounts for the red hue. In the soda kiln, I stacked the plates on top of each other separating them with wads of clay. You can see the wad marks on the plates. The plates received heavy soda interaction. These plates would be great for a piece of cake, a grilled cheese sandwich or a salad.

I've been using this mug now for a few weeks. It is heavy and thick, I have no worries of it breaking or chipping. I loved the shape right away as far as its appearance, and in my hand it is very comfortable to hold. The opening is smaller than other mugs and I wondered if that might be hard to get used to, but it wasn't, I think it is very easy to drink from. One of my favorite coffee mugs! Thank you!
