One of the simplest and most elegant of the Celtic knots, these hand tatted and beaded earrings take advantage of the shape and meaning of this knot—endless love. Carefully crafted out of #40 red variegated thread and beaded with matching red AB beads, this necklace is a beautiful declaration of enduring love.
Tatting is one of the strongest laces, as well as being one of the most ancient, consisting entirely of knots. It has proven itself as a beautiful decorative art for embellishing clothing, linens and home-wares, and has been adapted in recent times for personal adornment.
The necklace is mounted on fine red jewelry cord finished with a Turkshead ball knot and a figure 8 loop for ease of use, and is very light to wear. Should they become soiled, they can be washed in warm soapy water and dried flat. Each one is shipped mounted on card. The necklace is shown here displayed on one of Fischer's Art of Wood pieces, titled “Distorted Reflections”.
