Martingale collars (also called Limited-Slip Collars) are designed to slip over your dog's head and tighten with leash tension so your dog won't slip out of their collar, but they also won't choke your dog like chain collars. This is for a Loop Martingale collar with a quick release buckle on the side. An additional D ring for tags is included.

HOW TO MEASURE: To measure properly for a martingale collar, measure using a tape measure or a length of string that you will later measure against a yardstick. Note measurements for the widest part of your dog's head - around the neck directly behind her ears, and then around her neck where the collar will be seated. This should be a semi-tight, but comfortable measurement. Do NOT do loose measurements for martingales. Whichever Standard Size below contains BOTH of your measurements, that is the size you need. If your dog's head size is almost at the end of one range, order the next size up or give me the measurements so I can make a custom size. A martingale collar should be properly adjusted so that when the loop is pulled taut, the rings DO NOT touch. If the rings touch, your collar is too large. You should have a small space between the rings with a properly adjusted collar.**

PERSONALIZATION Notes:
1) You can choose your embroidery color. If you have any questions about colors, just let me know. A good rule of thumb is that contrasting colors tend to show up best, along with light colors on dark designs and vice versa. Generally, the exact same shades of the design are going to blend a little more into the design so just depends on how well you want the personalization to stand out.
2) If only a standard size is given (small, medium, etc), I start the monogram on the left hand side of the collar and curving around the neck so the chances of the adjustable slider hitting the phone number are at a minimum. If you give me a current collar size (measured lying flat from buckle end to buckle end - please note that this is NOT the dog's neck size), this WILL change the adjustable range to a custom range designed for your pup. Please note that your dog's neck size, your font choice, and the length of your text can affect if the slider covers part of the embroidery. If you are concerned with the text being covered by the adjustable slider, please contact us to determine how best to fit. If you have a growing puppy, it is best to order a standard size. If your dog has a very small neck size, the personalization may take up a good portion of the collar.
3) You choose your font. Please note some fonts are skinnier than others and do not show as well on more intricate designs. For very small necks (11 inches or less), the phone number will always be in the Wrigley or Bailey font. Name can be in any font.
4) Monogram Collars are custom items, so there are no returns/exchanges. Please make sure all the info you give me is correct and is what you want. WEBBING COLORS: Shown in 3rd photo - please note that different monitors display differently and there may be a slight variation in color display. Please note the colors marked as "1 inch" are available in 1 inch width only and some colors are not available in 5/8 inch width.

BUCKLE COLORS: Shown in 4th photo.

MONOGRAM COLORS: I have found that contrasting colors actually look better as a monogram because it helps to show up better. But that is up to you.If you'd like a specific color that is not shown, please ask before purchasing as we have a range of colors. If it is a color we do not stock, there may be an additional cost for a custom color.

FONT OPTIONS: See last photo for examples of each font in Proper Name and Capitals. Sample listing photo shows the "Sadie" font in Proper Name.

SENSITIVE-SKINNED OR SHORT-COATED DOGS: These are solid nylon webbing collars and the edges are normally turned inwards so they don't show on the outside of the collar. I can turn the edges outwards, however, for sensitive-skinned and short-coated dogs where edges could pose an irritation issue. Please note in the text box if you'd like edges turned outwards.

Please include the following in the Notes at Checkout:
1) Your dog's approximate neck size, approximate breed, or standard size. If you give a neck size, the collar will have a custom adjustable range to fit your dog best and still show the monogram. If you give a standard size only, I cannot guarantee the adjustable slider will not cover any part of the monogram. Do NOT add 2 inches to the neck size. If your dog has a very small neck and a long name with phone, please contact me first to ensure I can fit the info.
2) Monogram Details - Please list EXACTLY how you want it embroidered, including if you want CAPITALS, Proper Name, or lowercase.
3) Font choice
4) Color preference for monogram
5) Buckle Color if you choose the "Color Buckle" option.
6) If you choose the "Custom 2-color" option, please let me know what color you want for the collar and what color for the loop.

*Physical samples of webbing color and/or embroidery color are available for a small fee if you are concerned with how the color will show in real life. Please note we cannot control how internet browsers perceive color or how a buyer perceives color and we make every effort to accurately represent colors using manufacturer photos and color names.
