Flying Tigers Blood Chit Tapestry – WWII AVG Chinese Flag Escape Patch – P-40 Warhawk Pilot Survival Art – Military Aviation Decor

Flying Tigers Blood Chit WWII Wall Tapestry – AVG Chinese Rescue Flag – P-40 Warhawk Pilot Survival Artifact – WWII Aviation Decor

Bring a remarkable piece of WWII aviation history into your home with this Flying Tigers Blood Chit tapestry, a carefully restored replica of the rescue flag carried by American Volunteer Group pilots flying the P-40 Warhawk over China during World War II.

Known as a WWII Blood Chit, this cloth identification flag was issued to Allied airmen operating in the China-Burma-India theater. If a pilot was shot down or forced to land behind enemy lines, the message printed on the flag asked Chinese civilians to assist the airman and return him safely to Allied forces.

These chits became closely associated with the legendary Flying Tigers, and were also carried by American airmen flying dangerous missions over occupied territory, including airmen connected to operations such as the Doolittle Raiders.

The design features the Republic of China national flag and traditional Chinese calligraphy requesting aid for a downed Allied pilot. Reproduced here as a large wall tapestry, this historic survival artifact becomes striking WWII aviation wall art for collectors, pilots, and military history enthusiasts.

Translation from the Original Blood Chit

“I am an Allied pilot. My aircraft has been destroyed.
I do not speak your language. I am your friend fighting the Japanese.
Please give me food and protect me.
You will be rewarded.”
