Do you offer Free Shipping?

No. In order to offer free shipping, item prices must be high enough to cover that cost. No business could survive if they offered free shipping without raising prices. I prefer to price items as low as I can ALL the time, and then charge the exact shipping, so you know what you are paying for.

What Length Hair Fork Should I Get?

I generally suggest wrapping your hair in a simple knot bun, measure across, then add 1/2 inch. This should give you a good functional length to begin with. For Hair Sticks add 1-2 inches depending on how much of the stick you like showing :)

Will my items tarnish?

All metals tarnish, but not at the same rate. Sterling Silver can tarnish quickly if you live near the ocean, or other warm humid areas. It can tarnish due to the acidity of the natural oils in your skin or sweat as well. It cleans and polishes up easily though. Brass and Copper can tarnish fairly quick in humidity or from oils and salts. Bronze and Nickel Silver take the longest to tarnish, and this makes them perfect for damp bunning :) They do get slightly dull every so often, but they polish up very well. Gold Filled pieces may tarnish slightly after some use, but also polish well. Please be aware that chemical reactions can tarnish metals as well. Chlorine will turn Sterling grey or black. Egg, Salt, Vinegar can tarnish as well.

Cleaning your metal pieces

You can clean all my hair forks and jewelry with a simple polishing cloth. Another option is to use regular toothpaste (white, not the gel style). Just rub it over the metal with a soft cloth or your fingers. You will see the paste turn grey to black...then rinse well and dry well with a clean cloth. Repeat as needed. You should see your item shine right up :) Paste works best if your metals have been exposed to Chlorine. The dark grey/black is really only on the surface and it can be polished again. If your items ever need a deep polishing you are welcome to message me to inquire. If I have time I might ask you to send your item to me for a bit of refreshing.

All of our USA shipments are made via Standard USPS, with a tracking number, and insurance as needed. If you prefer another shipping method, please contact us, and we can make arrangements with you. If your package goes missing during shipping I will work with you to find it, or replace it. *****Please create a safe place for deliveries***** Once a tracked package is marked Delivered I cannot refund or replace the items if you claim to not receive them. I cannot be responsible for porch pirate activities. I will provide your tracking number and invoice if you need it, and help as much as I can.

Starting around mid October through the end of December, we will ship much more frequently. Mid November - mid December we try to ship daily. Each year I will add the cut off dates here as soon as USPS posts them.

INTERNATIONAL Shipping

*****NOTE***** I ship ALL international packages via USPS, with the CN-22 tracking information sent to you at the time of shipping. I cannot be responsible for packages lost or with held by customs in your country, and cannot replace these items. If your package does not arrive, I will re-send the tracking information to you, and you will need to contact your customs office, to be sure it is not being held there. YOU are responsible for all Customs charges. Most packages go through fine with no additional cost, but every so often customs in Your country will add an import charge. ~~~~~~~ I am currently unable to ship to France, due to the new EPR restrictions. I am a One person shop, and do not have the resources.

We are open to lay away, holding an item for you as a reserved listing (until the date we all agree on), or setting up multiple payments without interest...and will trade with other Etsy shop owners. Please don't be afraid to ask :)

How does Store Credit work?

If an item is returned to us for Store Credit, we will mail you a credit receipt so you have a hard copy. You may message us when you are ready to use your credit, and we will set up a listing priced accordingly, and send a 'credit used' slip with your new item. Store Credit with Silver Dawn Jewelry means your credit is saved on file until it is used. If our shop ever closed you would receive a payment for the amount due to you.

Our new charm holder was inspired by a customer who asked for us to make a custom piece for her, and here it is! (a lovely Mother's Day necklace :)

Size measurements are approx;
Small... 3/4" tall x 1" wide
Med... 1" tall x 1 1/4" wide
Lg... 1" tall x 1 3/4" wide

These Sterling Charm Holders are simple and elegant enough to wear alone, or to add your favorite charms...You simply hook the charm onto the end of the spiral, and swirl the charm into place.

I make them with .040" 9.25 Sterling dead soft wire, which I hand stretch, cut, free form bend, and then hammer. You can see the hammer marks on all of my free form jewelry, I angle the hammer on purpose to let them come out. When the light plays over them, they will shimmer and reflect the colours around you.
