A fabulous set of 2 Retro Pyrex Sprayware Kitchen bowls in pastel yellow and green colours. The inside is made from clear glass. Will look fab in a country kitchen or contemporary setting. This is timeless design and the heat resistant glass makes them ideal for all kinds of kitchen and cooking purposes.

The two pastel coloured bowls are made from heat resistant Pyrex glass which has been spray painted green and yellow. Made in England.

Both have a partial Pyrex back stamp with the crown.

Both bowls have a 14 cm (5 ½ in) diameter and are 5 cm (2 in) high. The two together weigh 530 g (1 lb 2.7 oz).

A useful set of 2 Pyrex Sprayware cooking bowls in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or visible scratches. There may be wear consistent with normal use such as some marks from previous use as this is a pre loved item. Please view photos.

For those interested, here is a potted UK Pyrex history! Pyrex was first invented in the US in 1918, when the Corning Glass Works developed borosilicate glass, which can withstand high temperatures. James A Jobling (JAJ) of the Wear Flint Glass Works in Sunderland was awarded the licence to make Pyrex in the UK and production started in 1922. Over the years the Sunderland factory developed many fabulous Pyrex products, helping to revolutionise life in the kitchen for many women as it helped to make cooking food much easier. Thick white opalware was introduced in 1954. The 1960s were the peak of production for Pyrex with many new decorated lines added. Unfortunately, foreign mismanagement led to the closure of the Sunderland factory in 2007, and production moved to France. Pyrex is now highly sought after. Sometimes JAJ Pyrex is referred to Crown Pyrex, also from England.

A fabulous addition to a collection of Pyrex or for a collection of JAJ Pyrex Sprayware. All sorts of uses in the kitchen.
