The Organic Side Table No.001 is initially cast in gypsum and then carved by hand and sealed with varnish. 

The presented object is an attempt at dialogue between the essence of fine art and the functionality of design in order to create intimate objects that bring us closer to nature. The table is a part of a limited collection of unique handmade pieces creating contemporary collectible design.

The form is the result of the intuitive approach of modernist philosopher Henri Bergson. In his methodology, intuition is a product of our organism and, thus, of nature, contributing to the primal human senses being understood. Built piece is made of organic, abstract shapes that seem recognisable even though it has never been seen before. The form and patterns engage with the senses on a primal level.

The table is made of pigmented plaster while experimenting with traditional layering technique to create distinct finishes. Using this method, I was able to create textures similar to natural patterns, which are diverse and unpredictable.
