Madhubani paintings are a famous form of artwork from the Mithila region in Bihar, India which borders Nepal. These paintings often represent simple yet eye-catching designs depicting people, animals, trees, flowers etc. The paintings are made on paper using water colors.

These paintings are old! They were made in the 90s and have varying degrees of color and paper preservation. The occasional color bleeds and frayed edges are part of the charm of these old paintings. Please review the photographs closely to review the imperfections. I am also happy to answer more questions if you message me before your purchase.

All pictures are of the original items in standard lighting. The photographs have been taken using my iPhone and no flash. The lighting in the photographs is just from the window - so I hope they represent "true" colors as closely as possible.

The size mentioned above is approximate and can vary by a few centimeters in either direction. All paintings aren't exactly the right size, however they do have a border that usually gives you some space to trim them to a consistent size.

*I do not sell the paintings with the frames*. However you can easily buy one online sized to how you want to display the paintings.

Shipping:
- The paintings will be rolled up during shipping and shipped in a sturdy box
- The rolling does not damage the paintings, however you will need to unroll the paintings to frame them
- Leaving the painting unrolled with some books placed on top of them for some time should unroll the paintings permanently

Pashminas, fine wool and wool:
We recommend dry cleaning the products. However, they can be hand-washed in cold water with baby shampoo or another light cleaning agent specifically meant for soft wool. Do not wring. Lay flat on a towel to dry.

Silk scarves:
They are easy to hand-wash using soft detergents. Can be hung to air-dry.

OMG this is a beautiful beautiful beautiful shawl. The pictures do not do it justice. The elephant pattern is just so playful and charming and as a lover of all things elephants, it's really quite the unique shawl to have! The shawl is also very lightweight and perfect addition to an evening out. I had originally been looking for things to buy as gifts, but I had to get this one for myself!
