My order hasn’t arrived. What do I do?

If you’re concerned about your order and if your purchased special delivery or the tracked and signed option for international orders feel free to request your tracking number via Etsy Messages, this will tell you the stage of your order. If you didn't opt for tracked or special delivery then for UK orders please wait until 10 working days after the proposed delivery date to contact us. Or for international orders 30 working days after the proposed delivery date.

Custom and personalised orders

We do not offer customisation. Because our workshop is set up in Kathmandu, all of our items are made weeks in advance. Unfortunately, this means we are unable to change the product.

There's a problem with my item, what do I do?

Please send us a message over Etsy with an image and your order number and we will see what we can do!

The measurements of the garment are listed in the item's description box. Please check the item's individual listing for the correct size. If you have any query about sizing please first message us via Etsy before ordering. Thank you.

I need my order by a certain date, do you offer guaranteed delivery?

For all UK orders please upgrade to Special Delivery. For some high value items we only send these special delivery anyway, if you are not sure don't hesitate to message me. For all international orders please contact me for a quote on your order, the price will vary depending on the size of your order. Royal Mail does not offer guaranteed delivery on international items, so I prefer to use DHL as the delivery provider.

On January 1, 2019, Germany’s Packaging Act (VerpackG) came into effect, imposing requirements on online retailers (including Etsy shops) selling to buyers in Germany. The Packaging Act promotes recycling and reuse of packaging materials (e.g. cardboard boxes, tape, and bubble wrap). My company Bespoke Nepal LTD, Registration number: DE5470230445326 is registered with LUCID, which is the Packaging Register of the Stiftung Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister (Foundation Central Agency Packaging Register – ZSVR). Producers/distributors pay a license fee to the dual system for the collection, sorting and recycling of the packaging they introduced to the market. My Dual System partner is Activate by Reclay. Please recycle when you can.

Do you accept International Returns?

Please rest assured we are happy to accept returns and issue a refund for the value of the item only. We cannot refund postage fees or fees already paid at customs as these services have already been used and are non refundable. We also ask the buyer to pay for return postage and for their understanding that we can only refund their order once it has been received back in its original condition. We unable to offer any refund if it has been damaged either by the buyer or in transit. Please also know international returns can only be accepted if you have let us know within 14 days of receiving your order that you want to return it and it has been received within 60 days from the delivery date.

Wild Nepali hemp (organic) and Indian Cotton woven on a traditional handloom by highly skilled weavers in the Nepali Himalayas.

This heavy woven upholstery fabric is perfect for chairs, sofas, curtains, headboards, cushions, soft furnishings, bags or jackets. It is also a practical and eco friendly as hemp is naturally water resistant and resistant to wear and tear and incredibly earth friendly.

PROVENANCE & HARVEST

Hemp grows wild in Nepal. After the end of the rainy season villagers leave their farms to gather hemp and nettle before the plants start to flower. Covering their hands with a cloth to avoid the giant stingers, teams of harvesters cut both the nettle and hemp above the ground without disturbing the soil. The plants then grows back with the next rains.

The fibrous inner bark is stripped from the plant and boiled in water and wood ash for about three hours and then left to simmer overnight. The plant material can then be beaten and the fibre removed. It is then rubbed with soil containing mica, which lubricates the yarn and makes separating and spinning the fibres easier. The fibre is dried in the sun and teased and is ready for spinning. This is done using a hand spindle indoors. When the weather no longer permits anyone to work outside in the fields then time is spent sitting indoors and making this super strong, super eco hand drawn yarn. The yarn has been drawn by tooth and spindle method, where the fibres are separated by teeth and is held on to a hand held spindle. It takes 10 days' work to make one kilogramme of yarn.

The effort and attention gone into these natural fibre materials is second to none. We source our fabric directly from highly skilled weavers for a fair price.
