Wool felt 1940s-style purple and navy felt perching hat.

For the vintage lover, this new piece was inspired by the percher hats of the '40s.

♦ CONTENT and CONSTRUCTION: ♦
Blocked by hand on wooden hat blocks with vintage wool felt. A short, slightly domed crown and flat, narrow brim.

The crown and brim are decorated with a navy blue soutache cord, to create a vintage swirled motif. Sewn on by hand with invisible stitches. It is decorated with braided felt trim and a grosgrain and felt decoration of leaves and berries.

A strap at the back secures it to the head and is finished off with a grosgrain bow.

The brim is softly wired to hold its shape and turned under itself and sewn with a special invisible stitching technique. Unlined inside. Finished with a navy blue grosgrain head-size ribbon and Silverhill Creative Millinery label.

♦ FIT: ♦
One size fits most. This hat does not fit down onto the head. In vintage style, it is designed to sit perching on top of the head and tilted slightly over the right eye.

A vintage-style strap fits to the back of the head to hold it on. (The strap has some elastic in it to accommodate multiple head sizes.)

This is a one of a kind hat, designed and created exclusively by me for Silverhill Creative Millinery. 100% hand made in my Vermont millinery studio. All hats are made using traditional, couture millinery techniques (i.e. hand-sewn, no glue used ever, etc.).
