"Looking Glass" Mother of Pearl [MOP] is a thin veneer of genuine MOP shell sandwiched between a thin layer of white acrylic on the bottom, and a Lexan type clear acrylic top layer, It has the look of a full and thick slice of MOP shell, without the out of this world price tag.
The veneer is assembled from sections of shell much like a puzzle or "chip board" plywood, transition edges from one section to the other are visible. This production method offers the best and environmentally sustainable use of our precious natural resources by using once discarded portions of the Mother Of Pearl shell.
