Add a piece of history to your house with a beautiful hand crafted antique Barn Beam Bench.
Perfect for a conversation piece underneath a window as decoration or set it in your front hallway for a sitting bench to get the family ready.
These beams have been locally sourced from barns here in Wisconsin that are being taken down to do storm damage or simply not being used. I am repurposing them so their beautiful and unique character can live on amongst new owners.
The beams are treated with Boracare (a penetrating liquid) that soaks into the beam and dries, eliminating any chances of wood boring insects which have aided in the unique features found on some beams.
I clean the beams and sand with multiple grits of sandpaper to smooth the piece, but still leave tons of detail and character, each different than the next.
Beams are finalized with multiple coats of finish to help protect the bench during normal usage and also to bring out the natural colors of the 100+ year old wood.
I install threaded insert in the base of the bench so that the legs can easily be installed or removed. This not only saves money in shipping, but also aids in the ease of moving the bench if you aren't currently in your forever home, or want to bring it to your cabin, etc.
Legs are steel, painted black industrial style giving a great modern look to the already rustic design.
Lengths can be customized as well, just message. Beams may have mortise pockets, cracks, knots, etc all just adding to character from long ago.
Single beams are about 8” in width and are right around 19” tall with legs installed. Because of the uniqueness of each beam being hand made, all will vary a bit, with no two being the exact same. Message with more questions or for a custom quote.
Current lead time is about 3-4 weeks to shipment.
