"Lukaret" is what my mom calls me when I'm suggesting something crazy or outlandish, or acting very impish.

"Luka" or "loca" means the same in Filipino as it does in Spanish (the Philippines was under Spanish control for over 300 years) and means "crazy."

So... "lukaret" means "crazy woman" but in a very endearing way, a compliment where crazy is good.

What makes it endearing is the addition of "ret" at the end. Generally, Filipino words do not denote gender (I'm no linguist or historian, I don't know why the gender in Spanish words didn't translate, personally I like that it's genderless). The addition of "ret" at the end makes this word pertain to a female, and also make it an endearment. In my head, it's like when you say "kiddos"... something light and fun.
