No, not at all. This is a totally natural process called "vanillin discoloration". The sweet, vanilla scented soaps contain a component called vanillin. Vanillin is an organic crystal that exists on the outside of the vanilla bean and contributes to the signature vanilla fragrance that we all know and love. When vanillin mixes with oxygen (oxidizes) it causes the soap to discolor, turning darker over time. This does not affect the quality of your soap at all. You can continue to use it as you normally would.

This is totally normal. It’s commonly referred to as “glycerin dew” and it means that your soap has a high glycerin content, which is a good thing! The vegetable glycerin in the soap has humectant properties, which means it’s drawing moisture from the air. So, when you wash with this soap, it leaves an unnoticeable amount of glycerin behind which draws moisture to your skin. When your glycerin soap sweats, it means that it is drawing humidity from the air which presents itself as dew drops on the soap. This does not affect the quality of your soap. You can continue to use it as normal. To reduce the appearance of glycerin dew, you can wrap your soap tightly in plastic wrap or store it in a low humidity room.

I waited til I actually used the soap before reviewing it. It arrived in good time and in good condition. I'm a bit disappointed at how easily most of the fake frosting came off after one shower, but the product itself does what it needs to do. It cleans well and smells great!
