For your consideration is this antique dough board, or bread cutting board. This old piece comes from a Maine estate and dates back at least 150 years. It is made of a wide dark wood plank, a side plank and separate ends. The side plank has 4 old round (dowel?) holes in it, and each end board has 4 old square-top nails holding it on. This primitive Americana treenware displays nicely, but does have some issues.
It measures just over 22 inches at its widest, about 18 inches long and 5/8 inch thick.
This is in good condition, still some flour on it. I did not clean it, repair it, or do any other treatments. There is likely ROT/ weakening in one area, about 6” x 1.5” in the middle of the outside edge of the side plank. (It is on the side with the flour on it, not the display side IMO.) There is a dowel hole nearby and the wood is thin there. See the close-up. There is a 3” split on one corner. There is a lot of wear on the edges and corners. Please look over the photos for a better idea of what you will receive.
I am not an expert on these, so please ask any questions prior to buying. This item is sold as is in priced accordingly.
This breadboard will give a wonderful country primitive/ antique farmhouse look to any home. It has lots of antique charm and is all ready to adorn your abode!
