Authentic Extremely Rare Meet the Rels cassettes Fang Wampir Bill Watterson Original Art Still Sealed BOTH TAPES

Bill Watterson created the artwork for his brother Tom Watterson in 1992.

In 1991 Tom Watterson, brother of famed Calvin and Hobbes artist Bill Watterson, commissioned Bill to create the cover art for his local band "The Rel's".
Bill Watterson agreed and secretly created two very unique and original pieces under the pseudonym "Fang Wampir".

I spoke to Tom in 2001 while he was teaching at McCallum High School in Austin Texas. I knew who he was, but it was early on in my obsession with Bill Watterson and his artwork and the feeding fenzy on his rarer work had not begun yet, in fact, he never suspected that I knew anything about his brother at all or that I would care if I knew he had done the artwork for any of his music.

I told him that I had grown up in Austin and had heard his band play and already owned one of his tapes but that it was broken and wouldn't play anymore... that I wanted to see if he had any more that he would let go.

Tom was all too happy to tell me all about the band and the tapes and inside I was bouncing off the walls, my heart started beating faster and I couldn't believe this was working!

The fact that it was going so well and that I was actually on-track to buy one was insane!!

He gladly gave me his address and said I could buy as many as I want for $20 a casette!!

Anyway, a couple weeks later (for good measure, of course I had written the letter later that evening) I sent a letter asking him if he remembered our conversation and how many copies he had remaining and that I was going to give some to friends and buy however many I could.

I wrote to him that if he was okay with it, I'd just buy the rest and put a check for $80 in the envelope.

After about a week and a half, a large padded envelope and a thank you letter (which he signed his name to EXACTLY like his brother (I'm not sure where the letter is, it may have been lost to a house fire we had back in 2006 but if I can find it, I'll include it with the casettes (this cannot be a mandatory condition of sale, but if I can find it, I'll include it, there's no reason to keep it considering the cassettes are the backstory to the letter.)

In any case, I now own four unopened copies...

I'm offering one copy of each cassette, in an airtight custom formed interior cushioned case.
I will keep the other set for myself and give them to my children... hopefully they'll hand them down generation after generation.

If you're a true Bill Watterson fan, you know that only his own personal paintings, which he notoriously burns after they're completed, are more rare than this.

Mr. Watterson doesn't do interviews, doesn't license any of his creations (with few exceptions) and is a recluse that refuses to cave to media and money pressure so if you're looking for an unauthorized die-cut sticker of Calvin urinating on some car manufaturer logo, this isn't for you.

The individual who purchases these cassettes will receive them in a custom tightly sealed case with non-acidic foam custom fitted for the cassettes to protect them from light and humidity.
