Characteristics:
The main practical function of a hat is a protection from the scorching sun.
It is light (hat is up to 230 grams), keeps its shape well, which is very important for a brimmed hat. Free Rigilene Poly Polyester Boning.

There are two descriptions for sizes UK / US 6. 3/4 - 7 and 7. 1/8 - 7. 3/8 (21.3"-22" or 54-56 cm; 22.4-23.2" or 57-59 cm).

No Rigilene Poly Polyester Boning is tied into the margins of the hat. The twine is rigid and holds its shape well, if you put in a Rigilene Poly Polyester Boning, it will lose the desired waviness of the margins. 

Materials & tools
  
1. Utility twine. The hat is crochet from household twine 100% cotton. The thickness is 80 grams / 50 meters (2,8 oz / 54,7 yds) . It is a thin twine, which is sold in hardware stores. We will need 6 skeins of 50 meters.
NOTE!
I made the hat also from raffia, but the brim is very soft. You can crochet reglin in the last round.
