Inspired by the elegant forms of traditional Japanese stone lanterns (Oki Gata), this ceramic lantern combines oriental aesthetics with the expressive character of Raku pottery.

Traditional Japanese Oki Gata lanterns were originally designed as freestanding stone lanterns placed along garden paths, near temples and tea houses. This ceramic reinterpretation preserves their elegant silhouette while expressing it through the spontaneous textures and metallic reflections of traditional Raku firing.

Its warm candlelight shines through the decorative openings, creating beautiful light patterns and a peaceful atmosphere for meditation, relaxation or simply enjoying a quiet evening.

Each lantern is individually handcrafted and Raku-fired in my studio in Italy. Unlike mass-produced lanterns, every piece is conceived as a small ceramic sculpture, remaining equally decorative even when unlit.

The Raku firing process naturally creates crackle patterns, metallic reflections, subtle color variations and unique surface effects that can never be exactly replicated.

Therefore, slight variations in shape and color compared to the photographs are completely normal and represent the guarantee of authentic handcrafted workmanship.
